My journey as a personal trainer began during a medically supervised weight loss program. I was fortunate to meet a personal trainer who showed me how to incorporate the discipline of exercise and healthy diet and make them my lifestyle priority. I was so inspired that I decided to become a personal trainer myself, to share my experience and passion for personal training. I am eager to work with women of all ages and fitness levels to help them achieve their lifestyle goals.
I’m a long-time Herndon VA resident whose first career was as a sedentary technical writer and copyeditor/proofreader and freelance website designer. I graduated in April 2014 from the 600-hour National Personal Training Institute certification program. My first personal training job was as a wellness associate at the YMCA of Fairfax County Reston, providing one-on-one and small group personal training and consulting with new members. Real Women Workout celebrated two years in business in June 2017!
More active now than ever before, I enjoy working out with my workout partner and walking with my clients; practicing yoga and meditation; gardening; taking long motorcycle rides with my husband, Bill, a proposal manager, on our Harley-Davidson Fat Boy; and hanging out with my daughter, Mary, a Herndon High School and Shenandoah Conservatory graduate and now a talented singer and music educator in Arlington County Schools.
My Commitment to You
Every day I meet mature (age 45+) women, in or out of menopause, struggling to lose weight or maintain weight loss. Improving our appearance is important to our self-image and well-being, but at our age it’s also vital to look ahead to the quality of life we want for the next 20 to 30 years.
Getting and staying disease-free, mobile, and independent are the direct results of living a healthy lifestyle right now. As your personal trainer, I am committed to helping you get started and stay motivated. A fun, customized Real Women Workout program will make it all happen!
